Sincero Ribera del Duero 2007

External Review by Premium Wine & Spirits:

Importer Eric Solomon used his connections to source a young-vine (25 year old) version of a famous Ribera del Duero wine with the intent of creating an under-$20 bottling that would exhibit the complexities of the areaandrsquo;s best wine. This 100% Tempranillo has been aged in a mix of French and American barrels for less than six months, revealing a dense core of black- and blueberry-scented fruit with anise, white blossom and spice components, and the tannins for 3andndash;4 years of cellaring.

Totally delicious Tempranillo from the Ribera del Duero region of Spain. Medium-bodied, with tons of earthy/mineral notes and plenty of bright red fruit. With an excellent tannic grip, but a clean finish, the Sincera would be perfect for any roasted or braised meat dish, and would also go nicely with pasta or risotto.

100% Tempranillo from Ribero del Dueros highest elevation vineyards. The nose reveals cedar, mineral, earth and black fruits. Rich on the palate with red fruits and solid tannins. Powerful with a superb grip. Enjoy it with veal shanks smothered in mushroom gravy, rabbit, eye-of-round roasts with a warm center, and fresh chicken breasts pounded thin, breaded and pan fried in a light olive oil and then baked with mozzarella cheese on top and presented with a good sauce.
