Simonsig Chenin Blanc Stellenbosch 2009
The full-bodied wine has a bright golden straw color, with aromas of ripe pear and honey leaping out of the glass. Layers of complex fruit fill the pallet with a rich and crisp aftertaste. A perfect balance of fruit, acidity and sugar makes the wine very elegant, with soft, smooth tannins and voluptuous, ripe flavors.
Great summer sipper. Light and effervescent. Almost like a vinho verde. Some nice honey covered pears. Drink extremely cold. Great as just an apertif.
