Simon Hackett Grenache Mclaren Vale Old Vine 2005
Simon Hackett Old Vine Grenache 2005 was vintaged from low yielding old Grenache vines. This classic red wine displays a vibrant depth of purple tinges. The perfumed lift on the bouquet of the wine is complemented by the full, fine palate which is enhanced by maturation in American oak with a light tannin finish.
The first bottle I tried, not so much. a little too alcohol tasting and just did nothing for me. The second, I opened and let it sit awhile. not sure if it was the meal (it went great with corned beef) or what, but a competely different result. Its part of the reason I love wine.
