Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Layered Rice Pudding

RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.

I just scored a case of this fantastic wine @ $7.99/bottle! A great bottle of zinfandel with only 13.5% alcohol. Just, if not more flavorful than the port-like high alcohol zin's we're all used to. Smooth, and very drinkable. Not overpowering. Lots of dark cherry, pepper, and even a bit of chocolate! I'm loving this wine. I'm very happy to have 11 more bottles in my cellar!

76% Zinfandel qnd 24% Petite SirahBrilliant garnet in color with a slight purple cast. Aromas of brambly raspberry, black cherry and red plum spiced with chocolate, cloves and black pepper. Fresh upfront berry and cherry flavors with hints of caramel and peppery spice.

Wine Tasting NotesSonoma County is home to some of the best Zinfandel vineyards in California. In the winery, traditional winemaking techniques such as open-top fermentation and gentle extraction yield a deeply colored Zinfandel. It is delicious with barbecued meats, pasta with red sauces, aged cheese and spicy gumbo. Ruby red with slight purple cast. Brambly raspberry, red cherry dusted with baking spices, black pepper and cocoa. Fresh upfront berry fruit laced with vanilla; light toast on the finish.

Simi winemaker Steve Reeder has produced an utterly delicious wine with this barrel-fermented beauty, the best nonreserve Chard from the winery in nearly 10 years. It shows flamboyant, complex flavors of tropical fruits, green apples, pears, butterscotch and smoky vanilla, with crisp, clean Russian River acidity. This is a good price, and the wine should be easy to find with nearly 20,000 cases produced.

Simi is one of California's oldest wineries. Their Chardonnay is a rich wine with hints of vanilla on the nose backed up by loads of ripe fruit.
