Simi Chardonnay 2008
Grassy/earthy scent. Flavors of tart lemon, a bit grassy, warm finish.
clean bright and refreshing not as buttery or heavy as other chardonnays but a definite buy
Aromas that remind me of bacon fat or baked chicken. Buttery with acidic citrus. Nice clean chardonnay for the price. I always seem to enjoy Simi wines

Appealing for its core of tasty peach, fig and nectarine flavors, which are supple and well-integrated.
There's lots of oak on top of a somewhat thin wine, but it's pleasant enough, with modest pineapple and peach flavors and dusty spices. Finishes quick, with oak flavors.
A junior version of the very fine Reserve, the '05 is ripe and forward in tropical fruit and flowery spice flavors, with an overlay of smoky, creamy oak. It's explosive, but balanced and controlled.
A little thin and herbal, but shows enough Chard character to accompany good shellfish or a chicken or veal dish. Modestly oaked, the wine has peach, tangerine, buttercream and smoky flavors.
A rich, concentrated style, with earthy tropical fruit, pineapple and yellow apple flavors accented by a pleasing spiciness. Drink now through 2008.
Herersquo;s a clean, steely Chardonnay with good varietal character. Itrsquo;s dry and crisp, with a creamy texture housing flavors of pineapple, vanilla and smoky oak. Nice with roast salmon, corn risotto or a simple broiled chicken.
A simple chardonnay oriented toward orange marmalade sweetness and buttery white cornmeal flavors of lees. Chill it for fish chowder.
