Simi Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander Valley Landslide 2007

Winemaker's Notes:

Deep, dark and nearly opaque with a ruby edge, the Landslide offers up evocative aromas of chocolate laced with cinnamon, blackberry, plum, black cherry and exotic wood spice. On the palate, a velvety entry is followed by concentrated black cherry and red plum fruit accented with toffee. It finishes with a hint of roasted coffee. Supple tannins add depth and length. This Cabernet Sauvignon pairs beautifully with filet mignon with Cabernet mushroom sauce or pan-roasted chicken with Swiss chard, pancetta and onions in creamy polenta. 80% Cabernet Sauvginon, 9% Merlot, 5% Malbec, 3% Cabernet Franc, 2% Petit Verdot, 1% Tannat

Refreshing, enjoyed with ravioli in a light sausage, arugula and fresh tomatoes. Would purchase again in a heartbeat! Think we purchased at Costco or Bevmo at around $15.

This is a good, full-bodied, dry Cabernet that delivers with plenty of varietal personality. Shows very ripe, concentrated blackberry, cherry and currant flavors, with plenty of sweet oak, and is tannic enough to develop over the next 4-6 years. Easy to find, with 12,000 cases produced. S.H.
