Simi Alexander Valley Merlot 2007
RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.
Very classic for the Merlot variety. Nice oak nose with hints of black berries. Burgundy color. Very dry and filled with tannins with a balanced acidity. Tastes of cherry but ultimately overwhelmed by the tannins. Opens up after some time and may be matured well over time.

Deep garnet with a ruby edge, our 2007 Sonoma County Merlot generously offers aromas of ripe red cherry, black plum, bright cranberry, clove, cinnamon, hints of cedar and toasty oak, followed by opulent flavors of red plum, cassis, and blackberry preserves that have been gently interlaced with clove. This medium-bodied wine is nicely structured and finishes with soft chocolate. We suggest pairing this Merlot with lasagna Bolognese, prime rib, or coq au vin. - Winery ** Only 3 in Stock **
Elegant and well-structured, with appealing aromas of currant and roasted herbs and lingering flavors of plum, cedar and leather that finish with firm tannins. Drink now through 2012.
Full medium red. Inviting aromas of redcurrant, plum, tobacco, milk chocolate and nutty oak. Juicy, leanish and on the dry side but with good vinosity and shape. Redcurrant and tobacco flavors complicated by hints of toast, nuts and spices. Slightly dry-edged but not hard. Finishes with fairly ripe, fine tannins. Not a particularly fleshy or modern style of Merlot but boasts good intensity.
Paacked with plum and black cherry flavors, with exotic spice and vanilla oak elements.
Well-balanced, with moderately rich, spicy cherry, herb, anise and cedar notes of modest complexity and depth. Drink now through 2004.
From a venerable producer, a fine Merlot. Itrsquo;s soft and gentle in tannins and acids, but that doesnrsquo;t detract from complex interest. The flavors veer toward black cherries, with a chocolaty edge. Perfect with a T-bone steak.
Nice and smooth, this Merlot is for early drinking. Itrsquo;s as plump as can be in cherries, cocoa, cola and tobacco, with soft acids and even softer tannins.
