    we went here for one of our tours and this place was awsome. they were so sweet and this particular wine for its price was well worth it. very smooth, a light sweetness, bold but not a dessert wine.

    Silverado makes wine from their family-owned estate vineyards. Their wines are handcrafted, like this Miller Ranch Sauvingnon Blanc. Notes of grapefruit, fresh green apple, and tangerine linger on the palate. A balanced acidity and long finish make this a wine you will keep coming back for.

    2007 SAUVIGNON BLANCTechnical Information:The year began dry with some very cold days and single-digit nightime temperatures around the New Year holiday. the season continued dry, with about 60% of normal precipitation throthe appellation. Temperatures were warmer than normal as winter continued into spring with resulting earlier budding, bloom and set in the vineyards across all varieties. The summer growing season continued on the mild to cool side, with few days topping 100 degrees, even in the warmest locations in the appellation. A heat spike around the Labor Day holiday added the boost of sugar development that growers were looking for to complement the excellent acid structure developed in the white varieties.Winemaking notes: Average harvest sugar was 23.3 Brix. To retain and enhance the crisp, fresh fruit character of Sauvignon Blanc, the juice was fermented in stainless steel tanks at 50- 55 degrees Fahrenheit. The wine did not undergo any malolatic fermentation.Analysis:Alcohol, 14.6 percent; titratable acidity, 6.25 grams per liter; pH, 3.25; residual sugar, 0.10 percent.Tasting notes:Pale yellow with a green tinge to the color. Flint, Meyer lemon and grapefruit citrus aromas, fresh citrus and green apple fruit flavors with a crisp acidity, lingering flavors through the finish.
