Silverado Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 2012
Three and a half glasses
Medium body wine with mineral and vegetal flavors. Rosemary and raspberry scents. Very tannic. Not as good as I expected of a wine from that area. Quaffable. Tasted 1/10/2011
This wine has a very developed nose after it has had a chance to breathe. The wine is perfectly clear, deep in color, and has a little brown in the color. The taste has chocolate notes and traces that are a little nutty. The initial taste is a little sharp, but after letting it breathe, it opens up and mellows out. The initial taste is a little spicy, but is gone almost as soon as it is noticed. The aftertaste is smooth and light. This medium-bodied is a great wine and will only get better as it ages, either on the shelve or in your glass.
This dark purple wine has explosive aromas of jammy fruit including plum, cherry and currant followed by some hints of tobacco and smokey oak. On the palate, this full-bodied cabernet opens with wonderful black fruit flavors of blackberries and black cherries with some black tea and pepper in the middle and some licorice on the back. The oak was subtle and the tannins were rather soft for such a big and young Cabernet.
Good nose. Fairly harsh tannis. Lacks complexity ok finish for a wine at this price range. A little dissapointing for a great vintage stags leap district cab.
Two and a half glasses
Bright but pleasant. Tannic. Ager. Juicy. Medium body. Lt strawberry. Concentrated.

A good, elegant Cabernet, if a little soft and rough around the edges. It shows classic Napa flavors of blackberries, currants and cassis, wrapped into smooth, sweet tannins. Drink now. - S.H. ** SOLD OUT **

According to Robert Parker - The 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon, is excellent. Dark ruby/purple, with notes of chocolate, cassis, espresso roast, and some underbrush, the wine is attractive, rich, medium-bodied.

Silveradorsquo;s Estate Cabernet, from the awesome vintage of 2005, is sourced from two estate properties, the Stags Leap Vineyard and the Mt. George Vineyard. The color is a deep purple and the aromatics of blackcurrant and licorice are dominant on the nose. This killer wine has huge flavors of cherry cola, cassis, and the structure is solid, round, and full of complexity. The finish is long and expressive and seems to last for hours. This wine could still be kicking in 12ndash;15 years, but Irsquo;m drinking mine now.
A brilliant effort, the 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon Solo (100% Cabernet Sauvignon) exhibits a dark ruby/purple hue in addition to a classic bouquet of graphite, licorice, black currants, dark cherries, underbrush, and fruitcake. Broad, full-bodied, and deep with moderate tannin, and terrific sweetness and length, it is an elegant, but substantial, authoritatively flavored Cabernet Sauvignon that will benefit from 2-4 years of cellaring, and should last for two decades or more.
