User Reviews for Silverado Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley
Add your reviewThis dark purple wine has explosive aromas of jammy fruit including plum, cherry and currant followed by some hints of tobacco and smokey oak. On the palate, this full-bodied cabernet opens with wonderful black fruit flavors of blackberries and black cherries with some black tea and pepper in the middle and some licorice on the back. The oak was subtle and the tannins were rather soft for such a big and young Cabernet.
Bright but pleasant. Tannic. Ager. Juicy. Medium body. Lt strawberry. Concentrated.
A blend of 92% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot, 2% Cabernet Franc. Ripe jammy like taste fruit and cool aromas with a touch of dried herbs. Medium to full body with cherry, raspberry and mineral flavors. Goes well with a New York Strip.
We visited the vineyard and found it to be one of the better values in Napa Valley.

This gentle, rich red has slightly volatile aromatics of peppermint over candied red fruit, a parallel to plum sauce for Hoisin beef.
Ruby-red. Cassis, violet, bitter chocolate and spicy oak on the nose. Sweet but juicy and firm, with moderately intense flavors of dark berries, spices and chocolate. Finishes with fairly ripe, firm tannins and a slightly dusty quality.
A Cabernet Sauvignon wine from California in USA. 2005 Silverado Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon 750ml
Forward aromas of cocoa, cassis and bay leaf. Full and rich black cherry and plum fruit meet spice and sweet oak on the palate. Superb balance continues through a persistent finish.
A well-behaved Cab that displays forward fruit and softly smooth, gentle tannins, as well as polished oak. The flavors of currants and cassis impress on the finish.
This Cabernet Sauvignon contains 6 percent Merlot and 4 percent Cabernet Franc, with fruit sourced from two Napa Valley vineyards - The Disney Vineyard and the Mount George Vineyard. Jack Stuart has been the winemaker since Silverado was founded in 1981.
The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon is a gorgeous example of elegance allied to power. The final blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc offers up notes of crushed rock, spring flowers, red and black currants, and plum as well as hints of white chocolate and subtle barrique smells. Medium to full-bodied, with a nicely layered mouthfeel that builds incrementally, the wine has superb purity as well as accessability. It can be drunk now or cellared for 15 or more years.
