Silverado Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 2012
A good, elegant Cabernet, if a little soft and rough around the edges. It shows classic Napa flavors of blackberries, currants and cassis, wrapped into smooth, sweet tannins. Drink now. - S.H. ** SOLD OUT **Add winemaker's notes
Three and a half glasses
Medium body wine with mineral and vegetal flavors. Rosemary and raspberry scents. Very tannic. Not as good as I expected of a wine from that area. Quaffable. Tasted 1/10/2011
This wine has a very developed nose after it has had a chance to breathe. The wine is perfectly clear, deep in color, and has a little brown in the color. The taste has chocolate notes and traces that are a little nutty. The initial taste is a little sharp, but after letting it breathe, it opens up and mellows out. The initial taste is a little spicy, but is gone almost as soon as it is noticed. The aftertaste is smooth and light. This medium-bodied is a great wine and will only get better as it ages, either on the shelve or in your glass.
This dark purple wine has explosive aromas of jammy fruit including plum, cherry and currant followed by some hints of tobacco and smokey oak. On the palate, this full-bodied cabernet opens with wonderful black fruit flavors of blackberries and black cherries with some black tea and pepper in the middle and some licorice on the back. The oak was subtle and the tannins were rather soft for such a big and young Cabernet.
Good nose. Fairly harsh tannis. Lacks complexity ok finish for a wine at this price range. A little dissapointing for a great vintage stags leap district cab.
Two and a half glasses
Bright but pleasant. Tannic. Ager. Juicy. Medium body. Lt strawberry. Concentrated.

According to Robert Parker - The 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon, is excellent. Dark ruby/purple, with notes of chocolate, cassis, espresso roast, and some underbrush, the wine is attractive, rich, medium-bodied.

Stags Leap District cabernet hits the texture receptors, and this one is the kind of textural pleasure that makes consideration of its fruit character moot. If you search, you might find candied violets, cocoa, a touch of black earthiness. The flavor detail may come with time, though the wine is easy to drink now, a soft, lush red for filet mignon.
Here's a complex, layered wine that impresses for sheer power. It floods the mouth with ripe flavors of black currants, blackberries, black cherries, dark chocolate, anise and cedar that finish deep and long. Delicious and dry, but quite closed now in tannins, and needs time. Best after 2009, at least.
