Silverado Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Napa 2012

External Review:

Dark cranberry in color with a hint of baking spices in the nose. At first sip there's a sweetness of ripe plum with a touch of vanilla and oak. Finishes on the palate with focused acidity and ends with an explosion of fruit pie flavors.

Here, Silverado Vineyards has been quietly producing world-class wines from their state-of-the-art winery for over 20 years. With grapes sourced almost entirely from Silverado’s family-owned estate vineyards, these hand-crafted wines are created in small lots with extreme care. They express richness, elegance and age-worthiness. Silverado wines are unique - one-of-a-kind blends of location, philosophy and winemaking style. The Mediterranean-style stone winery, established in 1981, stands on a knoll above the Silverado Trail in the heart of the Stags Leap District. Silverado is a legendary name from the early mining days. Today it symbolizes the Miller family’s long term commitment to the future of Napa Valley wine. Read less

Wine Advocate ReviewThe 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon possesses a dense ruby/purple color along with a sweet nose of creme de cassis and new oak, medium body, an elegant style, and an attractive finish. Drink it over the next 5-7 years.Wine Enthusiast ReviewRated 88Silverado flies under the radar, quietly producing opulent and balanced Cabernets while others get their 15 minutes. The '04 is riper and softer than previous vintages, with jammy blackberry, cherry, blueberry and smoky oak flavors, but it maintains balance and elegance. Drink now.Wine Tasting NotesRipe jammy fruit and cola aromas with hints of dried herbs. Medium to full body with cherry, raspberry and mineral flavors. Lively acidity leads to a fruity and persistent finish.
