Silverado Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 2005
Notes on the Silverado Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2005 Half-Size Btl. : 375ML Half BottleWINEMAKER NOTES: Aromas of plum fruit, cedar, earth and dried herbs. Medium to full body with ripe plum and cherry flavors. A young and highly structured wine with firm tannin that will evolve over time to reveal a classic Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. SILVERADO NAPA VALLEY CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2005 HALF-SIZE BTL.
Medium body wine with mineral and vegetal flavors. Rosemary and raspberry scents. Very tannic. Not as good as I expected of a wine from that area. Quaffable. Tasted 1/10/2011
This wine has a very developed nose after it has had a chance to breathe. The wine is perfectly clear, deep in color, and has a little brown in the color. The taste has chocolate notes and traces that are a little nutty. The initial taste is a little sharp, but after letting it breathe, it opens up and mellows out. The initial taste is a little spicy, but is gone almost as soon as it is noticed. The aftertaste is smooth and light. This medium-bodied is a great wine and will only get better as it ages, either on the shelve or in your glass.
This dark purple wine has explosive aromas of jammy fruit including plum, cherry and currant followed by some hints of tobacco and smokey oak. On the palate, this full-bodied cabernet opens with wonderful black fruit flavors of blackberries and black cherries with some black tea and pepper in the middle and some licorice on the back. The oak was subtle and the tannins were rather soft for such a big and young Cabernet.
Good nose. Fairly harsh tannis. Lacks complexity ok finish for a wine at this price range. A little dissapointing for a great vintage stags leap district cab.

Beautiful Cabernet. Has all the big, ripe juicy fruit and lavish oak of most Napa Cabs, plus elegance and harmonious balance, the hallmarks of tasteful, knowledgeable winemaking. Gets better and more interesting as it warms in the glass. Hard to believe it's this good with the high case production.
A well-behaved Cab that displays forward fruit and softly smooth, gentle tannins, as well as polished oak. The flavors of currants and cassis impress on the finish.
Ruby-red. Cassis, violet, bitter chocolate and spicy oak on the nose. Sweet but juicy and firm, with moderately intense flavors of dark berries, spices and chocolate. Finishes with fairly ripe, firm tannins and a slightly dusty quality.
The elegant 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa (87% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc) reveals notions of lead pencil shavings intermixed with black cherries, black currants, toast, and damp earth. It is a mid-weight, flavorful red with good acidity as well as a moderately long finish. It should keep for 7ndash;10 years.
Forward aromas of mocha, cassis and bay leaf. Full and rich black cherry and cassis fruit meet cinnamon and pepper spices and sweet oak on the palate. Superb balance continues through a persistent finish.
This gentle, rich red has slightly volatile aromatics of peppermint over candied red fruit, a parallel to plum sauce for Hoisin beef.
The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon is a gorgeous example of elegance allied to power. The final blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc offers up notes of crushed rock, spring flowers, red and black currants, and plum as well as hints of white chocolate and subtle barrique smells. Medium to full-bodied, with a nicely layered mouthfeel that builds incrementally, the wine has superb purity as well as accessability. It can be drunk now or cellared for 15 or more years.
