This small vineyard is a great place to see. Make sure to find what day's they are open before you go to wine country, but worth the trip.

Rich chocolate nose with hints of mocha. Very balanced and smooth. Lower acid than other Napa Cabs, very good fruit. Will clearly age. Finish is on spearmint. Very nice.

This is the first Silver Oak I've tried, and I loved it. The nose was so complex and interesting that it really built the anticipation. The kind of wine you want to drink every day for a month to learn more about it. If only I could afford to do that....

2004 Twomey Merlot is an elegant, concentrated wine that balances delicacy and expression of fruit. It has a dark ruby color and a complex nose of black cherry, raspberry, violets and dark chocolate, with hints of lightly toasted bread. It offers

Good deep red. Black cherry, plum syrup and lead pencil on the nose, with a lightly roasted character and a meaty nuance. Quite pliant on the palate, with a much more velvety mouthfeel than the Alexander Valley offering and more mid-palate stuffing t... Stephen Tanzer. Wine Tasting NotesThe 2004 Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a refined and complex wine that combines subtlety and depth. It has a dark ruby color with a deep red edge and displays aromas of fresh blackberries, violets, cola, nutmeg and licorice. In the mouth, the wine has a juicy attack and offers great expression of fruit and spice on the mid-palate. Its fruit-driven finish is long and elegant. Properly cellared, this wine should give drinking pleasure through 2023.

The Alexander Valley cuvee is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon aged in new oak. Somewhat superficial and light by the standards of this winery, the well-made 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander Valley lacks that extra layer of depth, texture, and fruit. Herbaceous, with sweet red and black currant fruit, spice box, and tell-tale oakiness, this is a wine to drink during its first decade of life.

This mature, well-built Napa Valley Cabernet is a luscious, deep brick-red color. Ripe black-cherry flavors and a cassis core, are nicely integrated with sappy French oak tannins. These firm, yet resolved tannins are supple, silky and elegant.

PRE-SALE OFFERThis is an opportunity to purchase a special and collectible Cabernet from a great California vintage. Winemaker Daniel Baron has created an expressive, velvety wine that carries the Silver Oak signature style: complex, concentrated, and full-bodied with layers of red and black fruit and spicy American oak.Aromas of olive-tinged, creme de cassis intermixed with sweet vanillin and smoky oak lead to a sweet, chunky, ripe, cedary wine with an attractive texture, an expansive, fruit-forward style, and a spicy finish.

Winemaker's Notes:

The 2005 Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon beautifully expresses the full aromatic ripeness of this exemplary vintage. It is full bodied and yet refined, and consistent in its color, aroma, palate and finish. It has a dark garnet color and a nose of black cherry, clove, cinnamon, lavender and licorice. It is seamless on the palate with a solid core of berry fruit, velvety tannins and excellent length. With proper cellaring it should give drinking pleasure through 2032.
