Silver Beach Sauvignon Blanc 2011

External Review by Prestige Wine & Spirits:

One of New Zealand's finest from Marlborough! Grapefruit, apricot and a hint of wild tropical fruit. A Sauvignon Blanc fan's favorite, this is a must try with ham and pineapple dishes, littleneck clams, oysters, grilled shrimp and herbed cream or soft cheeses.

This New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc is a delicate light straw in color. It is somewhat tropical in nature, showing ripe pear and apricot along with passion fruit nuances. The wine is light, crisp and nicely balanced in texture. Great to pair with herbed cream cheeses or shrimp cocktail.

Loud on the nose, where bold lime and herbal notes strike a brassy impression, and that intensity continues throughout. Focused citrus and pineapple flavors are assertive on the palate, finishing clean and crisp. Pair with boldly flavored seafood dishes, or savor it on its own.

Almost clear, with scents of tart grapefruit and lemongrass. A very crisp wine with a juicy, mineral aftertaste.

Starts off slightly flinty on the nose, then delivers restrained grapefruit flavors on the palate, tinged with green peas. Medium-bodied, with a short finish; drink it over the next couple of months.
