Gamay Noir is now known to be a cross of Pinot Noir and the ancient white variety Gouais, the latter a Central European variety that was probably introduced to northeastern France by the Romans. In contrast to Pinot Noir, Gamay ripens two weeks earlier and is less difficult to cultivate. An abundance of strawberries, coupled with zingy acidity and backed by firm structure, makes this wine very pleasant in its youth. The color is deep purple and the nose shows intense fruit with spicy, ripe aromas. The wine has soft tannins and is perfect for pairing with baked ham or roast turkey breast.

Gold Medal Concours Général Agricole de PARIS 2010 Wine grower, Bruno Romany's family originated from the Romagne region of italy before setting up in the Beaujolais village of Bully where they now own 20 hectares of vineyards. The vineyards are operated using sustainable farming methods and the wine can be traced back to the vine!
