Sigalas Mavrotragano 2007
100% Mavrotragano, a variety of the island that was under threat of extinction until recently but has started to become prominent with new plantings. Traditionally used in the island to enhance the aroma and flavor of traditional red sweet wine. A multi-dynamic variety which can be used for dry red wine or sweet red wine, of exceeding quality and character. The variety of Mavrotragano is protected as an endangered variety by the international organization Slow Food.
Nice balance of oak and mild tannins-but very faint nose. Medium bodied with a stern acidity but some-what balanced by the oak profile. Similar to a California Cabernet with a finish that is dry but makes you want another sip.

Deep red colour, aroma of spices and red fruit. Rich and gentle tannins, balanced acidity and complex after-taste.
6000 bottles for vintage 2007. Packaged in boxes of 6 bottles (0,75lt). produced.
Aged 18 months in French Oak.
Notes: Aging in new oak barrels.
