The 2012 Siduri Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir was Opulent and Blackberry.. Not the typical Strawberry.. but balanced and Blackberry. Decanted, Aired and enjoyed over a 2 1/2 hour 5 course dinner. My guests would rate this wine higher than WS or Tanzer, so I rated this Pinot for the Customer.

Nice translucent red/plum color. Fairly big nose with earthy, vegetative and some spicy (?) hints. Very fruity on the tip of the tongue--some cherry, some fig. Moderate tannins and moderate acid. Something of a tar or oily taste in the very back of the palate. US$35.99 at Total WIne in 2010

Deep ruby. Lively cherry and blackberry aromas are deepened by a note of musky sassafras. Juicy, incisive and gently sweet, offering silky dark berry flavors lifted by zesty acidity. Silky tannins add structure and focus to the finish, which leaves sappy blackberry and bitter cherry notes in its wake. While all the bottled wines were tasted at my home in Colorado (and followed for multiple days), the 2012s were tasted during my visit to the Santa Lucia Highlands. A blend from barrels that dont make the single vineyard releases, the 2012 Pinot Noir has loads of potential. Elegant, fresh and pure on the palate, with great acidity, it offers beautiful spice, floral and cherry and darker berry flavors and aromas. It should be approachable on release and have a solid drink window. Drink 2015-2020. - Robert Parker 89-91 Points

Full ruby color. Aromas of herry-vanilla, black raspberry and woodsmoke. Fleshy and sweet, showing good heft to its open-knit dark berry flavors. Finishes smooth and warm, with good cling and lingering spiciness. Stephen Tanzers IWC. A Pinot Noir wine from California in USA. 2011 Siduri Pinot Noir Santa Lucia Highlands 375ml

The 2010 Pinot Noir Santa Lucia Highlands shows lovely inner palate sweetness and freshness in its sweet cherries, flowers, spices, all of which come together beautifully in a fleshy, generous style.
