Siduri Pinot Noir California 2006

Winemaker's Notes:

Though not restrained (constrained would actually be a better word for Pisoni) this wine is tight. The first taste reveals the fruit and richness that so often typifies Pisoni but as you continue to taste the wine you notice the influence of the whole clusters, the range of flavors from the native yeasts, and then a finish that combines ripe tannins and good natural acidity. Given the proclivity of the Pisoni Vineyard wines to improve with time we can only believe that this wine will amply reward those to want to age it for five or more years.

Siduri started more than 15 years ago in our native Texas. At the time it was a dream shared by two wine geeks (us!) who wanted nothing more than to move to California and make killer Pinot Noir from the finest vineyards we could find. Siduri started more than 15 years ago in our native Texas. At the time it was a dream shared by two wine geeks (us!) who wanted nothing more than to move to California and make killer Pinot Noir from the finest vineyards we could find. Today that dream is a reality. In 2004 Siduri celebrated its 10 year anniversary. We can hardly believe it, but between two wine labels (Siduri and sister label Novy Family Wines) and three beautiful children, we are beyond blessed and beyond busy! With our small but tireless crew we produce over 25 different Pinot Noir wines each year, representing the largest Pinot Noir focus of any California winery. We invite you to use this site to learn more about our wines, winemaking, and vineyards as well as to access our online tasting notes. To receive information directly from the winery on special wine offerings, events and tastings, please take a moment to join our mailing list. Next time your travels take you to the wine country, be sure to give us a call. We would be delighted to have you visit the winery for a personal tour and tasting. Thanks again for your interest in Siduri. We love what we do and enjoy the opportunity to share with others. Adam & Dianna Lee Read less

Slightly brownish tint makes me fear oxidation. Nose is a tad earthy, maybe mushroomy. Very pinot noirish on the tip of the tongue--medium weight, lots of cherries. Fairly satisfying as it moves across the palate, but not complicated at all. A touch of tannin pucker, but, thankfully, no indication of oxidation that I feared. US39.99 from Wine Club in 2008.

This legendary vineyard located on the bench of Sonoma Mountain, at this point, needs no real introduction. The Van der Kamp family can boast that it has the oldest block of Pinot Noir grapes planted in Sonoma County (over 45 years old), and has a

The key to the Beran Vineyard Pinot Noir is texture. The wines from this vineyard show a mouthfeel and texture that reminds a taster of velvet. Wonderfully bright vibrant raspberry fruit, touch of dried herbs and earth and the beginnings of a creamy

Smooth, harmonious and appealing for its savory red cherry and delicate clove flavors, lingering on the fine-grained finish. Has style and transparency. Best from 2009 through 2014. 664 cases made. Pinot Noir Santa Lucia Highlands exhibits sweet black currant and cherry fruit, a seductive personality, decent acidity, and ripe tannin. It should be consumed during its first 4-5 years of life."

A spicy Pinot Noir full of cherries, warm spices, oak, and peppercorns on the palate. Delicious and well-structured, this is drinking very well today.

Tasting Notes:

Medium ruby color deep black cherry aromas with spice and pepper; ripe and rich...some tannin and great cherry finish; good structure and balance. A bigger style with delicious black cherry and spice.
