Winemakers Notes
The 2006 Hirsch displays just the beauty that we want in this wine. Lighter-colored, but full of flavors of raspberry and sour cherries, this wine really builds in the mouth. The finish displays good acidity and a pleasing hint of earthiness and even a touch of minerality. This wine drinks well enough now but we have always had good success with aging our Hirsch Pinot Noirs.

Now, compared to the others I have had so far this weekend this one was a fruit bomb. I refuse to truly label it that way because I was judging off some heavier and earthier examples. This was a great wine, but not what I normally expect from a Willamette Valley Pinot. Pretty in the glass and held its own when it come to clarity. It has strong light fruit flavors on the nose but they seem to carry a bit more heavily in the mouth. The finish had a bit of the earthiness I was looking for. If I had to drink it I wouldn't complain, but I do like other Oregon Pinots better.
There are pinots that kill you with their economy. Pint-sized and "nuanced" like the roses (ro-zays) that they really are, you find yourself loving them, the way you tell people how much you love reading "War and Peace." Yeah, you really connect to Dada, too. There's something in nothing, 'cause nothing is everything. Man. Then you run to the bathroom with a bottle of Siduri, and come back with
The prodigious, inky/ruby/purple-tinged 2006 Pinot Noir Pisoni Vineyard boasts sumptuous aromas of flowers, black raspberries, blackberries, and autumnal vegetation. The complex, bold, dramatic aromatics are followed by a full-bodied wine displaying considerable opulence, flesh, and length. Consume it over the next 5-7 years.
90 pts from Wine Spectator! - Mixes ripe, spicy ginger and berry flavors with a pleasant earthy streak, ending with mellow tannins and a complex spicy theme. It's hard to exaggerate how delicious this wine is. The light, airy mouthfeel and crisp acidity provide the perfect architecture for fabulously ripe, complex flavors of raspberry jam, grilled cherries, orange peel and smoky oak that finish with a rich array of Asian spices. Best now for it's precocity - Wine Enthusiast
