What to Expect

Cabenet Sauvignon: Originally of French origins, this versatile grape produces exceptional wines around the globe. It's usually medium to full bodied with a fine structure that supports black and red fruit flavors with typical notes of olive, chili and herbs that add complexity.

Winemakers Notes

The Show combines grapes from the Central and North
Coast AVAs. Anchored by full-bodied Cabernet, it also
features Merlot for a touch of softness. Cabernet Franc
imparts a bit of earthiness and flavor-enhancing acidity, while Petite Sirahand Petit Verdot give it a deep ruby color and a hint of violets on the nose. The Show is aged in French and American oak.

This has quickly become one of my favorite value cabs. Fruit forward but not jammy, with lots of cherry and vanilla flavors. Big and bold, but soft tannins so drink now. Really opens up after an hour in the decanter. Crowd pleaser. Note that the wine makers commissioned the label artwork, and the same exact wine comes with three different labels.

My wife found this one and I thank her every time we open a bottle. First, it wins the prize for best label, or three labels, as they developed three different labels for the same wine (brilliant marketing). Rebel Wine Company is the maker and a big force behind it is Joel Gott of Joel Gott wines. I'm a huge fan of everything he makes and The Show is the biggest, most flavorful, most compelling Cabernet Sauvignon I've tasted in this price range. It's available in a lot of grocery stores, including Whole Foods, so buy at least a bottle to try it out. I have two cases in my cellar and it continues read more...

Funky, very barnyard-y. Dirt. Bubblegum. Very interesting, but odd.

I enjoyed this wine at a lovely and historic restaurant called Towhnhouse in Emeryville, California in the East Bay area of San Francisco. This was my first time in northern California, and I have to say that this area takes their wine very seriously. I did not have a bad wine the entire time I was there. However, this wine made such an impression, I came back for dinner another night just to have another glass of this wine.
