Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Layered Rice Pudding

RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.

Light, crisp and dry chardonnay with little oak. Not bad but has somewhat of a metallic mid-palate

Winemaker's Notes:

Shooting Star's Blue Franc receives little, or no, oak aging. Depending on vintage, some liken this wine to Pinot Noir in lighter years and Zinfandel in the riper vintages. Sometimes it is totally akin to a top-flight Gamay from Beaujolais. The wine is clean, crisp, and unpretentious with tons of fruit, including warm berry pie, complementing the traces of pepper, almond, cherry and cinnamon. Blue Franc has soft tannins, medium body, great color and is quintessentially quaffable!
