Sharecropper's Cabernet Sauvignon Sharecropper's Cabernet Sauvignon 2007
Most of the fruit for the Cabernet Sauvignon comes from Dr. Steve Elerding's Six Prong Vineyard in Alderdale Washington. The wine is plush and forward with fresh berry notes as well as a nice smokey toasted coffee finish that lasts on the palate. This wine promises excellent cellaring potential.
Since our first vintage in 1999, Owen Roe winery has been working to produce exceptional, hand crafted wines. We are especially committed to the low vigor hillside vineyards of Yakima Valley Washington. These vineyards yield fruit with low pH and high acidity, both harbingers of age-able wines.
Sour cherries and earthiness on the nose. Same taste of cherries with tart cedar/oaky finish. This opened up after breathing and took on a much sweeter black cherry flavor and seemed to lose the tartness.
reminds me of a good napa valley cab... very enjoyable right out of the bottle , good varietal nose. Buying a half case to put away.. The washington 2007 reds are going to be awesome.
deep red color, grapey, oakey nose with a little cola. generous in the mouth with a medium length finish with moderate tannins
A tart and fruity Cabernet that bodes well at a young age. Concentrated with flavors of blackcherry while lending itself to higher acidic and moderate tannin levels. Great in the mouth but produces a rather insipid finish.
Three and a half glasses
