Shannon Ridge Ranch Collection Chardonnay Lake Country 2010
The grapes used to produce our 2010 Shannon Ridge Lake County Chardonnay were picked from several different blocks to help create an elegant multi-layered wine with great complexity. The wine was barrel fermented in American oak and a portion was put through Malo-lactic fermentation to help create a creamy buttery richness and soft vanilla flavors.
Some lovely and unlikely citrus on the nose that opens up to solid peach and tropical undertones. Very subtle oak lends some nice body. On the palette we have a little bit of green olive but definitely leaning towards the fruity side of life.
A bit yeasty with citrus on the nose, like a lemon Trix yogurt. Light on the palate with fruit, but with a bit of an almost savory bite. Finishes with some mouth coating acidity.
