- Another winner from Shafer! This is a full bodied Merlot with lots of black fruit flavor. Enjoy! Cheers!

- Varietal Composition: 75% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc The 2004 Merlot is rich purple, reflecting the vintage, and offers lush, focused flavors andaromas of bright cherries, strawberry, red and black plums, and cranberry. The CabernetSauvignon gives the wine added strength, firm tannins, and age-ability. Cabernet Francbrings in lovely fragrance with a hint of violets. Flatter this Merlot's fruit by adding a similar element of fruit to poultry, pork and meat dishes (duckbreast with dried cherry-Merlot sauce, roast chicken with cranberry-wild rice stuffing).Carmelized read more...

- ($45) Good bright ruby. Cassis, bitter chocolate and mocha on the musky nose. Rich, ripe, sexy and deep, with considerable sweetness to the flavors of currant, chocolate and cherry cola. As lush as this is, there's also plenty of inner-mouth energy thanks to ripe, harmonious acidity. Finishes long and clinging, with ripe tannins and plenty of sweet oak.
