Sfida Rosso 2007

Winemaker's Notes:

The name "Sfida" means "challenge," which is quite appropriate for a wine that challenges several notions about the look, taste and provenance of Southern Italian wine. What a pleasant surprise! Sfida Puglia Rosso is dark ruby red in color with a nose of blackberries, cassis, black raspberries, tobacco and earth. It is medium-bodied with moderate acidity, lean tannins and rich flavors of dark berries, black currant and spice. The wine is well balanced to enjoy now and over the next 4-5 years. The finish is smooth and rich. Enjoy Sfida Puglia Rosso with beef stew, hearty soups, pastas and cheeses.
