Seven Stones Winery Pinot Noir Similkameen Valley Vqa Speaking Rock 2007

Member Review by zufrieden:

Seven Stones is another up-and-coming Similkameen Valley winery with promising reds. This 2007 Pinot Noir is no exception with its medium color, predominant ripe wild strawberry and slightly forward oak tannins. It has more body than most Pinot Noirs from the region with a decent medium finish. Some imbalance and too prominent oak, but a good effort for the varietal.

The name Seven Stones comes from the legend of the seven individual rock formations throughout the Similkameen Valley known as The Seven Stones. Our passion for good wine and sharing with friends is our inspiration. Seven Stones Winery cultivates 20 acres of bench land overlooking British Columbia's spectacular Similkameen River Valley. In 2000 and 2001 the estate vineyard was planted with Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Syrah and followed up with a new planting last year of Petit Verdot. Co- proprietors Vivianne and George Hanson have developed a solid reputation for growing and selling exceptional quality fruit from the site. The wine style George Hanson has created captures this amazing terroir and makes for serious, complex wines needing serious attention. Read less
