Food Pairings for Seven Hills Winery Viognier Columbia Valley
Editorial Reviews for Seven Hills Winery Viognier Columbia Valley
Very nicely aromatic with hints of grilled pineapple over perfumed floral undertones and a bed of French toast dusted with vanilla, cinnamon and maple. A touch of wood sweetness greets the tongue. This firms up quickly to show good tension and acid spine supporting rather rich, fairly opulent floral peach fruit. There’s a touch more pineapple on the back end along with a hint of lemongrass before this drifts away on the firm and fairly long finish. Really well made, they really nailed this even if it’s not my style. 91pts
This is barrel fermented in new French oak and it shows. While the nose is very ripe, with dried peach and apricot tones, it’s also very smoky and creamy with a vaguely orangecicle tone. On the palate it’s not particularly fruit with a subtle, integrated oak overlaying the dried apricot fruit. It’s soft in the mouth but finishes with strong floral, honied, and burnt orange rind tones that drop off rather abruptly. This is a well-made wine but it does not excite me. 84pts
Lovely honey notes on the invade the nose and are surrounded by peachy aromas. Sweet and refreshing- perfect summer sipping wine! Structured and a bit more complex with hints of lemon rind
Floral, sweet, oaky. Peach and some honey and a little spice.
Buttery with floral and oak flavors. Smooth and would be a great backyard go-to in the summer!
I rate this review at 0 glasses. One post for the 2008 vintage says the wine comes from "Columbia Valley in Washington". Another for the 2010 cites, "USA>Oregon>Columbia Valley". Did the vines move?
immediate funk on the nose, a little caramelized, honey, pear and some burnt spices, definite spice on the palate makes for more complexity and nice acidic balance with the melon and citrus fruits that approach in taste.
Lightly floral and delicate, with notes of peaches and other soft tropical fruits (papaya, mango). A powerful finish for such a delicate wine. Only 400 cases produced

This Viognier comes from the famous Columbia Valley in Washington. With a creamy viscosity, white pear flavors in the nose, and a warm vanilla toastiness in the palate, this wine will pair well with many types of food, especially Asian food.
