Seven Hills Columbia Valley Merlot 2011

Winemaker's Notes:

"We are frankly excited and surprised with how well the 2011 Columbia Valley Merlot is drinking already. It shows dense and supple texture with already well integrated, finely grained tannins. It is generous with plush boysenberry and black cherry fruit and Christmas plum cake like spice and fruit aromas. 2011 was a cool vintage in Washington, which well suited the house style at Seven Hills, allowing for extended hang time and flavor development before ultimately reaching the same approximate levels of ripeness at which we typically harvest." Nothing shy about this - it grabs you right from the start with it's rich lush fruit - blackberry, plum, damp forest floor, tomato leaf. medium tannins and good acidity, this rings out enjoyment - still another year of prime drinking - 92 points - Paul
