Seven Hills Cabernet Sauvignon Klipsun Vineyard Red Mountain 2013

Winemaker's Notes:

"Planted in 1983, Klipsun Vineyard is one of the oldest and most famous vineyards on Red Mountain, the smallest AVA in Washington State. I have produced a single vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon from the same block, on the windward side of the vineyard overlooking the Yakima River since 1991 and find it to be one of the most distinctive sites I have worked with in three decades of winemaking. The wine has dark ruby color and aromas of ripe black cherries, licorice, mint, and tobacco. It is dense and powerful on the palate with intense earth and tannin structure combined with concentrated black fruits, cured meat, and earth characteristics. This wine will improve significantly with cellaring over the first five years and will hold nicely and continue to develop for ten to fifteen years from vintage date." -Winery

Brilliant full bodied cabernet. Terroir driven. Fruit-fulled mid pallette that finishes with a silky texture. I love this wine.

Ripe and spicy, focusing its black cherry, cassis, wet earth and smoke flavors beautifully as they sail over a bed of mildy chewy tannins. Has depth and grace.
