($63) This blend of seven varieties, made by seven winemakers from seven regions, is not legally a vintage wine because of its crazy composition, hence the sneaky "L" for "lot." Dark ruby. Smoky and ripe on the nose, with deep blackberry and cassis aromas and notes of oak spice, licorice, graphite and tobacco. Full and rich but also bright, with red and dark berry flavors enlivened by juicy acids and framed by supple tannins. Fresh, expansive and long, with a lingering note of dark berry liqueur. Utterly delicious and already accessible. (Grapes of Spain, Lorton, VA)
