Under the D.O. Rías Baixas, Bodegas Couto is located in the Area of "Condado do Tea". This Area includes the right bank of the Miño River, from Salvaterra to the parish boundary Ourense. The Condado area has an Atlantic climate, as has the rest of the D.O. Rías Baixas area of Spain, it has high rainfall and a moderate temperature between a maximum of 30° and minimum 0°C. Freezing temperatures are only found during December and January. The main grape variety planted here is Albarino, producing wine of great aromatic quality and elegance. A well known favourite grape of the locals. Grapes : 100% Albarino Region : Spain / Galicia / Rias Baixas DO Notes: A pale yellow white wine with green reflections and steely shades of great transparency. Care in the vineyard has produced this wine´s surprisingly intense, aromatic richness with hints of apricot and pear and ripe exotic fruits, complemented by a lemon-lime vibrancy, all perfectly blended together with is subtle flowery scent. In the mouth Serra da Estrela is ripe and fruity, elegant and long lasting. Serve : 10-12°C on its own or as a partner to fish, white meats and lightly spiced dishes. ABV: 13% Suitable for Vegetarians

Albarino 2007 - Star Selection, Food & Wine/ The Rias Baixas region on Spain's northwest coast produces superb whites, mostly from the Albarino variety. The flavor of this minerally, bright bottling recalls fresh-cut grapefruit.

Albarino 2011 - 87 points, Wine Enthusiast / Peach and melon aromas are holding onto their freshness, while the palate shows a soft side and modest acidity. Tropical flavors of mango, melon and pineapple finish with nectarine notes and a touch of bitter peach pit.

Albariño 2010 - #2 in Best Albarinos, Decanter/ “Good consistent wine with a combination of freshness and fruit. It has personality and expressiveness although a rather creamy finish. Enjoyable and easy to drink wine.” – Ferran Centelles (Sommelier) Lovely warm, ripe summer scents, hint of honey. Rich, mature fruit, well integrated, lovely complexity, richness, structure, long, golden, just the barest hint of austerity on the finish.” -- John Radford (Wine Writer) Smoky aromas, with fresh herbs, lemon conserve. Vivid beginning to the palate, with clean, steely freshness. Fruit develops, to show ripe supple character which softens effect of acidity,  stony minerality to finish.” -- Sarah Jane Evans, MW
