Seresin Sauvignon Blanc 2007

I thoroughly enjoyed the powerful aroma the moment I opened the bottle. This was a tasty wine with a wonderful finish.

Very grassy nose, with a touch of lemongrass. Prickling acidity, pears and peaches with a gooseberry finish. The finish has some minerality. A nice, complex sauvignon blanc.

Lots of crisp notes of cucumber and nuts, especially almonds, a dab of sweetness rounds out the rich and complex body, along with minerally citrus flavors, grassiness, peach, and melon.

Zingy cucumber, bell pepper and lemon zest nose that seems to pop right out of the glass. Quite refreshing flavors, full of fresh ripe acidity, lemons and limes, an herbal quality, basil maybe. Fresh and interesting!

Varietal 95 % Sauvignon Blanc- 5% Semillon Closure Screw Cap Size 750ml Alc/Vol 13.5% Enjoy Now - 2010 Seresin Vineyards embrace the principals of Bio-dynamics and traditional winemaking; hand-tending the organic vineyards and crafting wines in harmony with seasonal and celestial rhythms. The 2007 vintage has been called 'the winemakers vintage' for good reason. A cold and wet November & December severely affected fruit yields; reducing the number of bunches and creating smaller than average berries. Fortunately- the dry Autumn removed all pressure when it came to picking read more...decisions- allowing to 'hang-out' the fruit until the acidity came into line producing well balanced wines with powerful fruit flavours and concentration. Pale green straw in colour. This wine displays passionfruit and herbaceous characters on the nose with a flinty mineral complexity. The mouth feel is very finely textured with tropical fruit- ripe gooseberry and citrus with a slight creaminess and persistent acidity to draw out the palate. Drinking exceptionally well now- this wine will be at its peak in approximately 18 months and will develop further characters of truffle and caramel over the next five years. This wine is a blend of fruit from a variety of Seresin vineyards with varying soil characteristics. Fruit sourced from the Home vineyard on the upper terraces encompassed five parcels of varied Waimakiriri type soils of alluvial origin with free-draining basalt pebbles. This was supplemented by portions from the 'Tatou Vineyard' which is made up of a mixture of alluvial shingle and the clay rich 'Raupo Creek vineyards'. A total of twenty one different parcels of fruit were picked between March and April.
