This is stylistically quite similar to the Vieilles Vignes but with finer tannins and bit more breadth of flavors and muscle. This offers beautifully rendered fruit and flavors with more elegance and refinement than usual but at the expense of some structure and weight. Lovely and reasonably long.

($68) Fresh, deep red, a bit less saturated than the Vieilles Vignes. Aromas of smoked plum, game and coffee. Sweet, supple and very ripe, but less forthcoming today than the old-vines bottling, and not yet showing its personality. Comes across as more tannic today.
