Ser Lapo Chianti Classico Riserva 2013

Editorial Review by Snooth Editorial:

Milk chocolate and blackberry preserves on the nose. This is rich, juicy and refreshing in the mouth, providing a lot of depth in a single dimension without being overly complex - fresh fruit, zesty acidity and perky spice make for a wine that's easy drinking and food friendly.

a bit volatile with some immeadiate sweet blackberry fruit, very perfumed, lovely sweet fruit notes, lots of limestone with a hint of sage and pencil lead. Lush and juicy entry conceal vibrant acidity, moderate depth of flavor with a storng earthy core, freshens up texturally though remains a bit nuetral through the mid-palate with lovely cherry pit fruit on the finish, medium length finish which continues the cherry fruit with a faint note of herb. Texturally at peak though flavors a bit washed out. Ultimately quite good but just misses being outstanding.

Showing significant advancement on the nose with rich soil, tobacco and old wood note leaning towards soy and dried bay leaf tones. Still soft and well balanced in the mouth but lacking a bit of acidity and coming off as a bit simple and evolved in a faded way. A solid showing for this wine but I'm glad it was my last bottle. Drink up. 86pts

Slightly fungal, black fruit nose. It's quite dry. Full of oak and leather and dust and slightly medicinal. A hint of cherry, but most of the fruit has long since dried up.

Very old smelling nose. Lots of soy sauce. Alcohol is a bit out of balance, but palate still delivers in the old wine department.

A really nice wine, but certainly "drink now". Advancing well, but do not keep any longer.
