There’s most definitely something special about life in the Grove. Is it the towering Sequoia trees that define the estate and inspired the name? Is it the atmosphere of unassuming sophistication? Is it our unique combination of award-winning wines (led by our signature Cabernet) created with an artisan spirit? It’s all of the above—and more. And it’s right here, waiting to be discovered.
Very nice SMOOTH fruit forward cab.
Just cracked the bottle we brought home from Napa a year ago and it was everything that I remembered. This bottle was very refined, with notes of vanilla and baking spice following the dark blackberry core. Very impressive.
I'm a huge fan of Sequoia Grove Rutherford Bench Cabernet. I ordered a trio of years spanning 2004, 2005 and 2006. The 2005 was the standout of the years. It opened with a robust bing and black cherry nose and their typical dusty/gravelly/slate structure which only enhanced the smells. I could just spend the whole night smelling this wine. However, when you tasted it and swirled it around your mouth it opens up with a much more depth and complexity. Lots of other flavors including cocoa, blackberries, cedar and oak blossomed throughout the lingering taste. I was lucky enough to get to buy an additional case recently which will be cellared and shared and given away on special occasions. Definitely worth cellaring and hoarding, if you get the chance.
