What to Expect

Cabenet Sauvignon: Originally of French origins, this versatile grape produces exceptional wines around the globe. It's usually medium to full bodied with a fine structure that supports black and red fruit flavors with typical notes of olive, chili and herbs that add complexity.

Winemakers Notes

93 Points Wine Enthusiast: The term Rutherford Bench is not a legal one and refers to vineyards on the west side of Highway 29. The wine contains all five Bordeaux varieties and is very ripe and oaky with a fat fleshy mouthfeel that combines power with elegance. Its a bursting with delicious blackberry plum cocoa and cedar flavors that should develop for a decade.

Tasting Notes - Deep, dark red in color, the intensity of the color immediately gets your attention. The first sniff on the nose brings many rich layers, starting with cinnamon, and quickly leading into an intriguing character that can only be described as Rutherford dust. More aromas of fresh, sun drenched blackberries, cocoa powder, and vanilla and more hard to describe characters such as fresh cranberry sauce and a hint of licorice and pencil lead. The first sip explodes on your palate and coats your tongue again with blackberry and cranberry flavor which give way to more restrained notes read more...

A classic expression of Napa Cabernet, this wine's perfumed bouquet of black fruit and cassis is offset by notes of smoke, cedar and vanilla which are confirmed on the palate in a structure of ripe, supple tannins.
