Light and approachable for a shiraz. Too simple for my liking though...

Peter Seppelt Wines, the tradition continues. The Seppelt family has been making wine for over 150 yr's. Peter Seppelt is the 5th generation to continue the winemaking tradition. 25 years ago Karl, Lotte and Peter came across the 120 hectares, which has become Grand Cru Estate. Grand Cru, meaning fine wine, suits our aim of producing fine wine because of perfect elevation in a wonderful cool climate. Peter and wife Roz have purchased the Estate and with this our Estate has gone through a transformation over the past three years. We have our new Cellar Door and Restaurant which welcomes you as you walk past our beautiful bronze birdbath and pond from our new front car park. Our famous tower now welcomes fine dining with two levels available for small groups. The Wine Store has had a "face lift" for all to enjoy during larger functions (40 or more) and Weddings. All wine grapes are grown here in our vineyard at Grand Cru Estate. We are passionate about growing our fruit the Biological Way. That is only using chemicals when most needed and supplementing various critical foliar sprays with Aerated Compost Tea and natural fertilisers. This provides valuable beneficial microbes which helps build a natural defense system within the plant, which then aids against unwanted disease. The Biological Way also attributes towards having a very healthy plant which then produces fine fruit for fine wines. We also enjoy sharing our bird life. We are passioate breeders of Guinea Fowl which roam the property eating bugs and weed seeds. They really are a beautiful site not often seen. Children are most welcome at Peter Seppelt Wines. Our fluffy friends, the Silky Bantams will come up to eat bread from your hand. Lord Henry Leopold is our proud rooster with his girls!! Children will be over joyed! We look forward to your company to share the best kept secret in the Eden Valley - Peter Seppelt Wines, Grand Cru Estate. Read less
