Spicy and smoky on the nose with fine floral, mineral soil and tomato leaf aromas adding detail to the soft red raspberry fruit. Air really brings out an intense floral aroma here- irises galore. This is smooth as silk but a bit too soft on entry, dropping away to leave a bit of a void on the mid-palate. The wine really fills the mouth but there is some tension lacking. Lovely flavors of dark strawberry and jammy black cherry fruit topped with leather, bitter chocolate and light dried herb notes. The finish is a touch short and soft. This is very nice but lacks some of the tension of better vintages. Not to say this is soft as there’s a fine bed of tannin anchoring the fruit, just that it lacks some liveliness and precision. 89pts
Powerful nose with deep minerally limestone notes, crisp fruits, freshly tanned leather, hint of ripe herb over a pool of very ripe dark berry fruits. Mouthfilling with lovely ripe acidity framing dark fruits. Very structured midpalate with vibrant acidity that supports a long finish of red fruit that turns dark and tarry. At peak and firmly mature with great freshness, one of my favorite CCR and this shows why.

Aromas of honeysuckle and blackberry giving way to dark fruits, espresso and cocoa nibs on the palate. Very expressive and flavorful.
