/ Sella e Mosca's history goes back all the way to the 19th century. Even though the estate produces a large quantity of wine, quality is quite high especially among these selections. The 2006 Thilion (Torbato and Sauvignon) presents bright, high-toned notes of jasmine, lime and peaches. This lush suave white should drink well over the next few years.
Thilion 2006 - 89 Points, The Tasting Panel/ Juicy, dense and smooth with rich, ripe fig plus racy, crisp acidity; nicely structured, long and complex.
Thilion Alghero DOC 2008 - 90 Points, eRobertParker.com/ ...is an impeccable, richly-textured wine. Sauvignon seems to dominate, especially in the bouquet. Seamless and opulent, but never heavy, the Thilion reveals a gorgeous core of intense yellow fruits, spices, mint and minerals that come together with unusual grace. Floral notes inform the delicate finish. This is another beautiful white from Sella & Mosca... Sella & Mosca is one of the oldest and best-known wineries in Sardinia. Curiously, many of the estate's wines rely on international grapes, something that sets Sella & Mosca apart from the vast majority of wineries on the island.
/ The estate's 2007 Thilion is equal parts Torbato and Sauvignon that spends four months in French oak. This is another beautiful wine loaded with personality. The Sauvignon is mostly felt in the wine's floral, minty aromas, while the oak adds an extra dimensiion of richness and volume while keeping varietal expression intact. This richly-textured white is another outstanding effort from Sella e Mosca.
