Sella & Mosca, founded in 1899 by Piedmontese Emilio Sella and Edgardo Mosca, is Sardinia's top winery. This Vermentino is made at its huge estate on the north side of the island. Delicate and floral, this may be enjoyed as an apéritif or with light fare.
The 2007 Vermentino di Sardegna La Cala is classic Vermentino, with its soaring, perfumed aromatics, and crisp, clean fruit. A refreshing white, it is best enjoyed over the next year. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2009.
