External Reviews for Selby Zinfandel Sonoma County Old Vine
Without question, the best Zinfandel I've had all year has been the Selby 2005 Old Vine. This wine has everything you could want out of a Zin - so jammy it's like licking the inside of a jar of preserves - yet spicy with a touch of cinnamon and clove on the finish. A quintessential California fruit-bomb: powerful, but practically gulp-able; easy-to drink for those who prefer sweeter wines, yet complex and interesting enough for those who consider themselves connoisseurs. Buy two because you're going to wish you had a spare!
Made from premium hillside fruit planted at the turn of the century in Alexander and Russian River Valleys. Aged for sixteen months in both French and American oak barrels, this wine has the classic rich berry fruit, velvety texture, and lengthy finish for which Zinfandels are known.
