RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.
juicy, lot of fruits (yellow)(it will be more powerfull in 2years), spicey, long lasting... nearly 90 points imho
I have never been disappointed by any bottle from this winery. Some of the wines are more interesting than others, but all are very good.
Had this once at a friend's place. Really liked it.
like sunshine in the night
Really nice. try in xmas party.
Medium sweet but finishes dry. More mineral than fruit. Drinks well. Sleep not disturbed.
External Reviews for Selbach-Oster Riesling Auslese Zeltinger Sonnenuhr
The 2004 Zeltinger Sonnenuhr Riesling Spatlese A.P. #18 smells alluringly of white peach, lily, and vanilla and offers a creamy, nutty, enveloping palate of ripe white peach, vanilla, juicy lime and pink grapefruit, citrus, and liquid stone. This is one of those periodic Selbach wines that sets the record straight: this neighbor to the better-known Wehlener Sonnenuhr is a great vineyard in its own right and capable, as in this instance, of delivering intricate interplay of fruit and mineral, gravity defying weightlessness with fullness, and superb ageability. The elegant, laid-back, and effortlessly long finish reprises flowers, vanilla, pit fruits, citrus, and slate, along with low toned nut oils, honey, and herbs. If the finishing impression is still somehow restrained, thatrsquo;s simply an accurate reflection of the fact that this fascinating and gorgeous wine mdash; which needless to say represents an extraordinary value mdash; will only become more so over the next two decades.
This is on the drier side, its lively acidity framing flavors of citrus and grapefruit pith. It is unusually subtle and elegant, its fruit both juicy and reserved.
The generic Selbach-Oster 2009 Riesling Spatlese mdash; from Zeltinger Himmelreich plus a bit of Kinheimer Hubertuslay mdash; offers simple but luscious apple and pear fruit, with a saline streak that makes for an invigorating and lip-smacking finish. Give such impeccable balance mdash; at 9% alcohol and with only a modest, adeptly-integrated residual sweetness mdash; I would expect it to remain delightful for 12ndash;15 years, and it might well pick up some complexity in the process as well.
Not much aroma here, but the flavors express lemon, orange and vanilla matched to a creamy structure. Itrsquo;s well-balanced and long, with a tangy finish. Best from 2007 through 2020.
Open, delicate and gossamer in texture, framing the apple, lime and spice flavors. This is balanced on the vibrant, juicy side, with a mouthwatering finish. Drink now through 2022.
Subtle bouquet of peach stone, cinnamon and lemon zest. Apricot fruit remains light and elegant on the palate, with refreshing acidity providing definition and lift. Mineral salts accent the pleasingly refreshing finish.
On the dry side, medium body with aromas of peach, pineapple, spice and minerals. Elegant and lightweight, yet very seductive and balanced with intense flavors that build through a long finish.
