Not too viscous or syrupy. this could probably be confused in a blind tasting for a sweet riesling. woo-wee this is tasty with granny smith apple and pineapples for days. I haven't smelled this much petrol since the last Australian riesling I drank. That's what she said? Definitely not what I was expecting when I screwed the cap off.

A Proprietary Blend wine from Marlborough in New Zealand. 2010 Selaks Ice Wine 375ml
Winery notes This seductive wine reveals the secret of producing an outstanding ultra-sweet wine; optimum balance between fruit sweetness and crisp clean acidity. Made predominately from Riesling and Gewurztraminer this wine never fails to make friends. It tastes sweet and oily yet never cloying.
A Proprietary Blend wine from Marlborough in New Zealand. 2006 Selaks Ice Wine Premium Selection 375ml
Selaks, a long-established family estate on New Zealand's north island, now has a second winery in Marlborough, where this luscious dessert wine is produced. A blend of Riesling and Gewürz, the wine's honeyed sweetness is balanced by fine acidity.
Produced from 58% Gewurztraminer and 42% Riesling, and sporting 162 grams of residual sugar per liter, the 2002 Ice Wine Premium Selection has a nose of white flowers, peaches and apricots. The result of cryogenic extraction (freezing the grapes), it is a lush, pleasing wine loaded with yellow fruits and cherries. Medium-bodied and satin-textured, it has excellent depth of fruit and balance. Drink it over the next 7 years.
Sweet, tangy and intense, with very good concentration to candied green apple, peach and apricot flavors. Gewürtraminer and Riesling. Drink now through 2010.
Full gold. Roasted fruit salad, crème brûlée, honey and cinnamon on the nose. Penetrating, fresh flavors of apple, pear and peach; the wine's slightly sugary quality is leavened by some brisk citrusy acidity. Finishes with good length and some unabsorbed acidity.
Selaks Premium Selection Ice is rich and luscious, with flavours of marmalade, dried apricots and honey. The palate has a slightly oily texture, with a seamless blend of concentrated fruit sweetness and crisp, clean acidity. Lingering on the palate, the finish is deliciously sweet and refreshing.
