Selaks White Blend Marlborough Ice Wine 2011
Selaks Premium Selection Ice is rich and luscious, with flavours of marmalade, dried apricots and honey. The palate has a slightly oily texture, with a seamless blend of concentrated fruit sweetness and crisp, clean acidity. Lingering on the palate, the finish is deliciously sweet and refreshing.
RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.
Not too viscous or syrupy. this could probably be confused in a blind tasting for a sweet riesling. woo-wee this is tasty with granny smith apple and pineapples for days. I haven't smelled this much petrol since the last Australian riesling I drank. That's what she said? Definitely not what I was expecting when I screwed the cap off.

Balanced, rich, citrus. Nice mouthfeel. Apples and pears. Not too sweet, no raisin.
Great with fruit and nuts. Apple and honey on the nose. Big grapefruit on the palate. Crisp, intense, and not cloying.

Selaks, a long-established family estate on New Zealand's north island, now has a second winery in Marlborough, where this luscious dessert wine is produced. A blend of Riesling and Gewürz, the wine's honeyed sweetness is balanced by fine acidity.
Very pale yellow-gold color. Slightly swampy aromas of apricot syrup, mirabelle, lime and mint, with a hint of heat showing. Then juicy, gingery and supple in the mouth, and already quite expressive. But a distinctly easygoing style of ice wine, without the concentration, structure or gripping acidity normally shown by the category of sweet wine.
Richly sweet and brightly aromatic. A delicious amalgam of juicy litchi and spice aromas and flavors, finishing tangy and bright with citrus notes. Gewürtraminer and Riesling. Drink now through 2006.
