Killer for burgers. Had some nice and surprising depth on that finish.

This is one of my favorite wines. It is a "true" zin. The nose is wonderful! Goes well with different foods. For the value it is a wonderful wine!

Cooler temperatures preserved this Zinfandel's juicy acidity and allowed for the grape tannins to mature on vine while infusing scents of cracked black pepper and heightening the Zin's briary, spicy essence. Fine, ripe tannins add a velvety richness seldom found in Zinfandel. Elegant richness, a broad mouth feel and a lingering minerality elicit typicity and point to superior grape growing. Savory purity of fruit with both aromas and flavors of blueberry and cherry - delicious with red sauces, pizza, barbecue, spicy cuisine and a variety of meats. Well-defined berryish fruit read more...

This broad-shouldered young Zin was fairly unexpressive when first opened, showing black licorice and bitter chocolate or espresso character, but with food and airing, opened up nicely. Serious depth in the earthy dark cherry and berry fruit, with a nice dose of black pepper, vanilla, and spice. As always, full-bodied and chewy in texture. A tad rough at this stage, should be great in another year or so. Well-priced for a Zin of this quality, and not all that far behind the great Seghesio single-vineyard Zins costing nearly twice as much.

A great wine that is not too over powering as a Zin that can be easily paired with almost any food.
