Seghesio Family Vineyards Sangiovese Alexander Valley Venom 2008
Easily my favorite of the Seghesio tasting. Nice smoke nose with some earthiness to it. Red cherry with smooth tannins and some smokey flavor. Good balance overall.Add winemaker's notes

Had this on New Year's Eve. Thought it was a pretty decent wine all around. Great match with a large variety of foods and went especially well with spicier fare. For the first time ever I was hit with the exact perfect match for this wine - we were told that it would go well with spicy and fatty foods by the person that served it to us and I immediately thought to myself Genoa Salami when I had the first sip which was confirmed with the subsequent drinks. To me it seemed like the perfect compliment to Genoa Salami - if only we'd had some available then to test my suspicions. Guess I'll have to buy a bottle and some Genoa Salami and find out.
Big, dark and burly. This wine is loaded with tannins and dark fruit. Drink with BBQ and heavier foods.
