Segal's Cabernet Sauvignon "Special Reserve" Israel 2010

Winemaker's Notes:

A very well-made cabernet showing nice dark fruits like blackberries and cassis. It is a pleasing, full-bodied wine made in a "California" style and aged in a mixture of French and American oak which helps give it good balance and the ability to age for several years. Mevushal *Kosher Wines*

Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Coconut Rice Sweet Potato Cheesecake

RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.

Wine Tasting NotesThe wine has a deep ruby color. It has an aroma redolent of ripe black plums, cherry and cassis with a bouquet of cinnamon and vanilla. It is a rich full bodied wine with soft concentrated tannins. It is very drinkable, but will improve five years or more with careful storage. It would go well with roast beef or lamb as well as with serious, mature cheese.

Full bodied, rich blackberry and dark cherry flavors, subtle hints of anise and a long finish.
