Solidly in the long Sebastiani tradition, a rich, well-crafted Cab. Many wines that cost $25 and more are not as good. Dry and full-bodied, with ripe blackcurrant flavors and complex, easy tannins, this is a first-rate wine and it is delicious.
California Cabs of this quality at this price are few and far between. This is smooth, ripe and spicy, with an elegant band of currant, herb, sage and spice nuances that hang on and tannins that are soft and fleshy. An exceptional value.
Has aromas of oak, black cherry, black olive and sandalwood. The flavor is reminiscent of ripe black cherries with currants. It finishes smooth with spicy oak and blueberry.
A subdued, rich and chewy youngster, full-bodied, offering currant, blackberry, cedar, anise and graphite, ending with chewy tannins. Drink now through 2016. Tasted twice, with consistent notes.
The tight tannins are wrapped around supple plum and cherry-laced fruit, making this easy to enjoy now, with modest complexity. Drink now through 2010.
