It's rare to get a wine at this price from this appellation. And what's a winery whose name is synonymous with Sonoma Valley doing out on the cold coast? A Pinot that straddles the two regions, this is a fascinating wine, with sumptuous blackberry fruit and an exciting edge of minty tartness. Fantastic value in Pinot Noir.
Pinots in this price range can be risky, but this one represents a good investment. It's got real Sonoma personality in the silky texture, crisp coastal acids, and raspberry, cherry, vanilla and cola flavors.
A delicate, soothing style, with high-toned ripe cherry, vanilla and spicy aromatics, and a smooth, polished texture. Finishes with supple tannins. Drink now.
Lots to admire, from the bright, rich plum, blackberry and black cherry fruit to the supple texture and pretty toasty-mocha oak shadings. Concentrated, with a long, complex finish. Drink now through 2008.
Black cherry is the strongest flavor, with black tea adding yet another element to this great wine. A hint of cola comes through on the soft and pleasing finish.
