Food Pairings for Sebastiani Vineyards & Winery Pinot Noir Russian River Valley
Tasted at UNLVino 4/10/10
I first tasted this wine on my 5th wedding anniversary. I paired it with a pistachio-crusted lamb chops and a duck paté. To both me and my husband, this wine was the most perfect glass of wine we had ever tasted. We savored every drop with our dinner. Amazing, smooth, fruity and just an all-around great wine for any palate. We loved it! The price of the bottle of wine from a supermarket is not bad considering our 5 star dinner cost $110.00 for two people! Excellent.

Gentle scents of fraise de bois and wild raspberries give this wine a delicate glow. It's a blend of pinot from the old vines at Sebastiani's Nebbione vineyard, complemented by other vineyards in Carneros, Sonoma Valley and Russian River. Sleeked by oak, with gingerbread scents providing form, the wine is neither pushy or pushed. It takes a bold, art deco stance, darkening to date and plum, decorative yet simple.
Smooth and creamy, with pretty black cherry, plum and mocha-scented oak flavors. Drink now.
Juicy red cherry flavors make this light wine feel concentrated and plump. It's soft, simple and grapey, for rare prime rib.
Velvet-soft and youthfully rich with plum and black cherry fruit, this thick, juicy pinot's depth of color is impressive, especially at the price. The flavor isn't long, but it's appealing.
This fruit-forward pinot has flavors of strawberry jam and plenty of raspy tannin. For braised duck. Best Buy.
A delicate, soothing style, with high-toned ripe cherry, vanilla and spicy aromatics, and a smooth, polished texture. Finishes with supple tannins. Drink now.
Very dense up front, with delectable aromas of plum cake, black cherry and vanilla. The palate is not enormous, but it's big enough to satisfy any lover of modern-style Pinot Noir. If there's a fault here, it's a buttery note to the finish.
With over a century of winemaking experience in Sonoma, Sebastiani Vineyards & Winery focuses on crafting small lots of super-premium wines from the great growing regions of Sonoma County, becoming one of California’s most highly praised and awarded wineries for its Bordeaux and Burgundian varietals. This wine is a beautiful medium to dark garnet colour with dried cherry, strawberry compote, vanilla and mocha aromas. The flavour is balanced between juicy, cherry-like fruit and toasted oak. Finishes with lively acidity, firm tannins and well-integrated oak.
