Kind of an "earthy" nose with, maybe, a hint of oak. Not overly fruity on the tip of the tongue--a little bit of cherry but not bad. Some bitter on the sides of the tongue, but that is diminishing as the wine warms a bit. (I just took it out of the cellar, and it is less than 60 degress F.) Medium bodied. This will probably go well with tonights big green salad with slices of leftover grilled tri-tip beef. US$13.50 at the winery in 2003.
