Food Pairings for Sebastiani Vineyards & Winery Chardonnay Sonoma County
Lovely little Chard - that made my list of the Top 5 Value Wines for the VIP Movie Theater! Good tropical fruit, some vanilla and toasty roasted nut aromas with a little buttery note. Sebastiani is right on for varietally correct, lithe Chard that is not over the top!
External Reviews for Sebastiani Vineyards & Winery Chardonnay Sonoma County
From a large-scale producer whose quality is often overlooked, this Chardonnay displays ripe pear and fig flavors enhanced by toasty oak shadings from aging in small French and American oak barrels.
Mild-mannered, with a gentle core of pear and citrus flavors framed in moderate oak. Could use a bit more zest in the middle. finishes short. Drink now.
Medium golden color with aromas of green apple, lemon zest, vanilla and roasted nuts (from the oak barrels). It is medium bodied with intense "Golden Delicious" apple fruit flavors. The finish is soft with hints of caramel and bread toast. Enjoyable now in its youth, it will develop more hazelnut and honeyed complexities over the next three years while retaining its fruit.
The Sonoma Cask wines are produced with the strictest benchmarks for quality, not quantity. They represent Sebastiani's commitment to make wines that are true to their roots in Sonoma.
Ripe, with a honeyed edge to the mineral, sage and herbal notes. Complex, if young and in need of bottle time. Drink now through 2009.
Although this Chard is unoaked, its has strong flavors of vanilla and crème brûlée, in addition to the tropical fruits, roasted green apples and sweet lemon custard. It's direct and strong, an inexpensive Chard to pair with rich fare, like scallops in cream sauce.
A seductive, understated style, with plenty of ripe, juicy, pure flavors of fig, nectarine and light toasty oak. Drink now through 2003.
